“Managing Technology Around Work and Life” is a project focusing on the design challenges regarding the technological mediation of how people manage the blurring and/or separation of work and life activities. We are undertaking an interview study for capturing examples of how people manage technologies to enable/avoid work/life blurring.

In December 2016 we will also run an open design workshop, where the outcomes of the data collection (as well as insights gained by the proposers from previous projects) will be used as input for the participants to develop new design concepts and scenarios for technological support for work and life.

The project is conducted by Dr. Luigina Ciolfi and Dr. Eleanor Lockley of C3RI – The Cultural Communication and Computing Research Institute at Sheffield Hallam University, and is funded by the EPSRC Balance Network (under grant EP/K025619/2) and generously supported by Sheffield Hallam University.
